The Douglas County Public Library is presenting an orientation for county commission candidates and the public from 1-5 p.m. June 11 at the CVIC Hall in Minden.
The orientation will include an overview of Douglas County government, presentations by elected and appointed officials about county services, and answers to frequently asked questions about being a county commissioner. Candidates will be encouraged to ask questions.
"The orientation is designed as an informal, educational opportunity for candidates, not a forum to debate or discuss candidate's positions on Douglas County issues," said Library Director Linda Deacy.
The public and Douglas County staff are invited to attend to meet the candidates and to learn more about county services, she said.
For additional information, call Linda Deacy, Douglas County Public Library, 782-9841 or Lisa Granahan, county manager's office, 782-9821.
