Workshop


for individual investors


Taught by instructors Janice Rice and Chris Lamb of Edward Jones. Students learn how to increase investment income while reducing taxes on investments. Other topics include stock market and ownership investments. Class is Feb. 27 through March 12 at Edward Jones, 1483 Highway 395, Gardnerville. Cost, $24. Information, 782-9828.




Dog obedience


Instructor Guy Yeaman uses a light-handed approach to help you teach your dog to obey the commands: heal, sit, stand, stay and recall. Dogs must be at least 4 months old and have a choke chain and a fabric or leather lead. Class is Feb. 27 through April 16 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds building on Pinenut Road. Cost is $75.




Ballroom dance


Learn and practice the fundamentals of the fox trot, swing, waltz and many other Latin dances. Class is 7-8 p.m. Fridays for Ballroom Dance 1 and from 8-9 p.m. for Ballroom Dance 2 at the Dance Workshop, 1697 County Road, Minden. Cost, $75 per couple.
