Kaffer to receive watershed award



The Carson Water Subconservancy District has announced the nomination of Dan Kaffer to receive the 2008 Andy Aldax Carson River Watershed Award for exemplary service in conservation and protection of the Carson River Watershed.


Kaffer was nominated by the Washoe Tribe for his more than 13 years of professional and voluntary work with various community organizations focused on conservation efforts. Since the late 1990s, Kaffer has organized educational river days throughout the Carson River Watershed with thousands of youth and adults, and initiated the Eagles and Agriculture program in Carson Valley.


The award will be presented to Kaffer at the CWSD board meeting 6:30 p.m. today in the Nevada State Legislative Building, room 1214, 401 S. Carson St., Carson City.
