So far Minden has received nearly its average of moisture for the year with 8.69 inches falling since July 1, according to R-C weather watcher Stan Kapler. Stan reports that 31.5 inches have fallen in the county seat so far this year. He had 5.5 inches during the storm on Saturday that boiled down to about a half inch of moisture.

Highway 89 is closed for avalanche control between the junction of Highway 50 and Bliss State Park. There's work on either end of the Carson freeway, but otherwise the roads are clear and ready to go.

The weather graphic says sunny for today as the high temperature climbs for the sky, or at least 59 degrees, which is pretty warm for February. There's a little rain on the horizon over the weekend.
