Gordon W. Bell

1919-2008

A memorial service will be at a later date for Bodie native and Bridgeport resident Gordon W. Bell, who died in Gardnerville on Feb. 19, 2008.

Born March 15, 1919, Mr. Bell is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanne; son Brian and daughter and son-in-law Teresa and Clyde Burchell.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mono County Library in Bridgeport. Arrangements are entrusted to Walton's Douglas County Mortuary in Minden.

Robert Barry Ziegler

1927-2008

Gardnerville resident Robert Barry Ziegler died Feb. 17, 2008, after an extended illness lasting many years.

Born March 31, 1927, Mr. Ziegler served in the U.S. Army during the American occupation of Japan after World War II. He later worked as an engineer. He retired from the Hartford Insurance Co.

He loved animals and believed in God.

Preceding him in death was his son, Michael.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty; children and their spouses, Bruce and wife, Gina, of Lake Tahoe, Dale and wife Harriet of Bellingham, Wash., Glenn of Gardnerville and Vallerie Smith and husband Michael of Wolverine Lake, Mich.; sister Betty Jean Schnurr and husband Steve of Louisville, Ken.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no memorial service. Donations may be made to the Hospice of Lake/Valley, 1615 Highway 395, Suite C, Minden, NV 89423 or Coventry Cross Episcopal Church Building Fund, PO Box 518, Minden, NV 89423.

Arrangements are by Walton's Douglas County Mortuary in Minden.
