Weaving class begins at senior center

Douglas County Senior Services offers a six-week weaving class as part of the Life Options program, 1-3 p.m. Thursdays beginning Feb. 21, at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville.

Instructor Marilyn Elligott is a member of Mother Lode Weavers and Spinners and has 20 years experience. Elligott will teach the history of weaving, fiber and loom types, measuring techniques and how to design patterns. Class members learn to weave on a loom and complete a project such as a scarf, place mat or towel.

Class fee is $50 and no experience is necessary. For information, call the senior center, 783-6455.
