Former Douglas County Public Works Director Larry Werner has been named Carson City manager.
Werner served in the Douglas job from Sept. 21, 1992 to May 7, 1993.
Werner served as assistant city manager for the city of Puyallup, Wash., prior to taking the Douglas County job. He also served as public works director and acting city manager for Puyallup.
He was public works director in Carson City from August 1978 to May of 1984.
Werner was born in Smith, where he lived on a ranch until age 14. Then his family moved to Carson City where he attended junior high and high school.
He graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1971 with a degree in civil engineering.
