While waiting for sentencing, man tests positive for cocaine

A 20-year-old Gardnerville man was back in custody Wednesday after he tested positive for cocaine while awaiting adjudication on a charge of sales of a controlled substance.

East Fork Justice Jim EnEarl set bail at $25,000 cash for Iqbal Singh who was picked up after a drug test allegedly revealed he had used cocaine in violation of terms of his release.

EnEarl set a Jan. 30 preliminary hearing on the sales charge.

He told Singh if he posts bail, he would be under house arrest with electronic monitoring.

"You can't so much as set foot on the porch," EnEarl said.

Singh was arrested in July and accused of selling cocaine in an undercover sting.
