The R-C Morning Report

On this eve of New Year's Eve, Douglas County's law enforcement is preparing for the annual "party" at Stateline. The deputies will be inviting several of their friends to the party and will be keeping an eye out from underage drinking, driving under the influence and general mayhem.

We're having a heat wave. It got up to 62 degrees in Minden on Monday, way warmer than the U.S. Weather Service predicted. All the ice is turning to slush outside, which can sometimes be more treacherous to drive in. Any snow in the Valley that survived the sun will be gone today if it's as warm.

Today's forecast is for sunny and warm. I don't think the Weather Service's guess of 49 degrees is anywhere near the mark. Bet on the high temperature to be in the 60s again today and on Wednesday. Snow is back in the forecast for the end of the week, but so is rain.
