Suspicious package determined harmless

The Tahoe-Douglas Bomb Squad determined that a black suitcase left in the parking lot of Michael's was harmless.

The bomb disposal robot shot the suitcase with a water blast at about 4:45 p.m.

The parking lot in front of Michael's Art Supplies in the Carson Valley Plaza was closed when the suitcase was reported.

The package was found just before 4 p.m. Search and Rescue personnel were called to block off part of the parking lot while Douglas County Sheriff's deputies were called.
