Rosebud and Pops in Heritage Park

The Town of Gardnerville's Movies in the Park presents the Carson Valley Pops Orchestra entertaining with show tunes before the classic movie, "Citizen Kane," on Aug. 15. The movie begins at dusk in Heritage Park, a block east of Highway 395 off Gilman.

Minden

Carson Valley Inn entertainment

Tina & the Tune-Ups appear through Sunday and various duos entertain on Monday nights. Cabaret Lounge entertainment is presented with no cover and no minimum in 45-minute shows at 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 p.m.

Tina & the Tune-Ups' performance includes a costumed tribute to the '50s and '60s. The group is Tina Fink on keyboards and lead vocals, Ray Rodarte on lead guitar and vocals, Gary Setzer on drums and Dave Edwards on bass.

Shake, Rattle & Roll take the Cabaret Lounge stage Tuesday and play until Aug. 17. Shake, Rattle & Roll recreates classic rock 'n' roll of the '50s, '60s and '70s performed live without the aid of computers and tapes. The band features Lee Bellinger on lead vocals, Andy Highhouse on guitar, Michael Tucker on bass and vocals, Warren Purcell on drums and Bill Crane on keyboards and vocals.

Markleeville musician and artist Russel Ketenjian plays the oud, a traditional Persian stringed instrument, 3-5 p.m. Saturday, at Artisans International Gallery, 1653 Lucerne St., Minden Village, 783-8881. Ketenjian's ceramic artwork will be on display. Light refreshments will be served.


Music at Minden Farmer's Market

All Hat No Cattle play at the Minden Farmer's Market, 4-7:30 p.m. Aug. 12. All Hat No Cattle plays country and bluegrass classics from Johnny Cash to Patsy Montana. The band is Krista Jenkins on vocals, guitar and mandolin; Mike Maloney on vocals and guitar and Natalie Nielson on vocals, washtub bass and snare drum.

Comedy Night Live returns Aug. 22

Comedians Karen Rontowski and Adam Stone join host and producer Kat Simmons for a Comedy Night Live triple-header at the Carson Valley Inn on Aug. 22.

Tickets are on sale for the "Curse of the Hanging Tree" at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395 in Gardnerville and the Genoa Court House Museum. Performances are 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 22 and 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 23 in downtown Genoa.
