Paraglider walks away from Foothill crash

A paraglider walked away from a crash on the mountain above Van Sickle Station near the intersection of Muller Lane and Foothill Road this afternoon.

Residents gathered along side of Foothill after someone spotted the bright red paraglider in a tree about two-thirds of the way up the hill.

The glider was identified as Don Simmons, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. Simmons refused medical attention.

Paragliders launch from Kingsbury Grade and land in the field down below.

The incident was reported at about 1:55 p.m.
