Merrill Gardens residents welcome change of season with fashion show

The shorter days and cooler temperatures signal a change in seasons for Carson Valley. Residents of Merrill Gardens at Gardnerville welcomed that change in seasons with the fourth annual fashion show on Sept. 15. Residents modeled the latest fall fashions from the Carson City Gottschalks Department Store. This season's styles featured deep jewel tones and bold prints.

A dozen ladies participated in the fashion show along with Merrill Garden's newest resident, Tom Rushing, who escorted the ladies wearing his own suit and tie delivered just in time by the moving van. Fellow residents, friends and family members joined in the festivities and enjoyed refreshments and mimosas.

"This is an event that is fun for everyone," said Bobbie Hanson, Merrill Gardens Active Living Coordinator who organized the event. "The residents who volunteered to be models enjoy trying on the newest fashions and modeling them for their fellow residents. Friends and family members enjoy watching the show and having an opportunity to share a fun afternoon with them."
