Carey Leandra Smith

1988-2007

Pastor Dennis Bertucci will conduct a memorial service 11 a.m. Sept. 15 at the Valley Christian Fellowship, 1267 Highway 395, Gardnerville for Carey Leandra Smith, 18, who died Sept. 2, 2007, in Green Valley, Ariz.

Miss Smith, who's nickname was Carebear, was born Sept. 25, 1988, in Upland, Calif. Her parents were Eric and Tamara Bowen. She lived in Carson City for 18 years before moving to Arizona a month ago. She was a high school graduate, planning to become a cosmetologist and worked as a supervisor in a department store. She was a member of Valley Christian Fellowship in Gardnerville. Miss Smith loved horseback riding, ballet and jazz dance. She loved life and was always smiling and happy.

Miss Smith was preceded in death by her grandparents; grandmother Marjorie Smith, June 16, 2001, in Reno and grandfather Goldwyn Smith May 9, 2002, in Carson City.

She is survived by her boyfriend Kiel Stalling; her parents Eric and Tamara Bowen of Carson City; her twin brother Casey Wayne Smith of Carson City; sisters Heather Irene Smith and Holly Robin Smith-Ryan, both of Carson City; grandmother Eve Bowen of Riverside, Calif. as well as two nieces, three nephews, two aunts and two uncles.

Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City. Miss Smith was cremated in Arizona and brought back to Nevada for a private burial.
