Fire weather watch set for Labor Day

A fire weather watch has been issued for Labor Day afternoon with wind gusts of up to 35 mph combined with low humidity as a strong low pressure system rolls into the area.

The National Weather Service is predicting winds of between 15-20 mph through the afternoon and into the evening. This system will dry out any benefit that might have come from Friday's rain. The low pressure front will bring cooler temperature with it.

Today's high in Minden is predicted to be 90 degrees. Monday will hit 89 and Tuesday's high is predicted to be 82 degrees. There doesn't appear to be any pressure associated with the low pressure system.
