The awards for the 57th annual Nevada Day Show sponsored by the Nevada Artists Association at the Brewery Art Gallery in Carson City were announced with an artist reception at the gallery Oct. 27.
Out of 31 artists who participated in the show, eight Carson Valley artists came home award winners.
Mechele Johnson was the recipient of the Spirit of Nevada Award for her watercolor titled "Belmont Manor." Other Carson Valley award winners are: Ric Rose, first place, acrylics; Pam Brekas, honorable mention, photos; Linda Townsend, second place, pastel; Anne Armijo, second place, mixed media; Pam Brekas, honorable mention, mixed media; Pam Brekas, first place, miniatures; Nancy Clark, second place, miniatures; Mechele Johnson, third place, miniatures; Peter Bowie, first place, sculpture and Jan Rollenhagen, second place, sculpture.
The Nevada show will be displayed at the gallery through Dec. 1. The Brewery Art Gallery is located at 449 West King Street, Carson City.
