Kathleen Bobula

1943-2007

A celebration of life will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Dayspring Church, 974 Tillman Lane, Gardnerville Ranchos, for Kathleen Bobula who died Sept. 17, 2007.

Mrs. Bobula was born Sept. 2, 1943, in Rockford, Ill., to Gordon and Iris Fowler. She married James Bobula in Carson City and spent her career as a homemaker, bookkeeper and running a grooming business. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Reno and had many certificates for 4-H, FFA and watercolor painting.

She is survived by her husband James of Gardnerville; her mother Iris Fowler; son Todd Bobula, stepson Paul Brown, daughters Tinna Bobula, Tearra Bobula, Tracy Coto-Valentin and Nick Arneson; her sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and Arnold Johnson, as well as 10 grandchildren and other extended family.

Eileen Mary Southard

1925-2007

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. today at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home for Eileen Mary Southard, 82, who died Oct. 14, 2007, in Gardnerville.

Mrs. Southard, a resident of Gardnerville for 10 years, was born Aug. 14, 1925, in Sidney, Australia, to Leslie W. Mitchell and Eileen C. Leamore. She attended Catholic school for 12 years and married Elton Southard, Dec. 21, 1956. Previously from Los Gatos, Calif., she was a homemaker, an avid reader, she loved world history, sewing formal dresswear and will be remembered as a wonderful wife and mother.

Preceded in death by her parents in Australia, she is survived by her husband Elton H. Southard of Gardnerville; sons and daughters-in-law Robert L. and Eiko Cutts and Mark E. and Nancy Lynn Southard, daughter and son-in-law Gloria F. and Nicholas Maerz; sister Shirley Rogers; sister-in-law Frances Osterman and brother-in-law Marvin Cunningham.

Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville. Burial will take place at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.
