The R-C Morning Report

About three dozen Genoans gathered on Tuesday night to work on a strategic plan for Nevada's first permanent settlement. When asked what their vision for the town in 15 or 20 years, townspeople answered they wanted to it remain its quaint quiet self with more boutique retail and less noise.

Just when you thought it was safe to drive that high-profile vehicle again, the National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning, which will be in effect until 11 a.m. today. Gusts of up to 60 mph have been recorded along Highway 395 and the Weather Service expects them to hit 70 mph at times. Expect damage to trees and powerlines. A Gardnerville weather watcher reported a gust of 56 mph at 4:10 a.m.

The Weather Service radar is showing we're under a big old green spot of something and it's definitely raining on the west side of the Valley. So far this fall has been pretty wet, but there's not telling what that means for the rest of the winter.
