The Carson Valley Sertoma Club is selling entertainment coupon savings books to raise funds to support its many causes in Carson Valley. The entertainment books contain two-for-one deals and discounts for up to 50 percent at local and national restaurants, hotels and resorts and retail stores.
Books are $25 with a portion of the proceeds supporting the Carson Valley Sertoma sponsorships.
Sertoma sponsorships include hearing aids for adults who may not otherwise be able to obtain them, cash donations to China Spring and Aurora Pines Youth facilities, Austin's House, City of Refuge and individual causes.
Four yearbook scholarships for high school seniors entering college have been awarded since 1995. Sertoma made donations of more than $15,000 during the last year.
The entertainment coupon books are available from any Sertoma member, by calling Leslie Sanford at 267-0553, at Bill Wall physical therapy specialist at 1625 Highway 88, Minden, and from Pat Cardinal at Re/Max Realty Affiliates, 1320 Highway 395, Gardnerville.
Informative area speakers and breakfast are featured at Sertoma's weekly meetings 6:30 a.m. Friday in Sharkey's Casino Rib Room.
