Claude B. Lovestedt

1920-2007

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Dec. 15, at Dimond & Sons Silver Bell Chapel in Bullhead City, Ariz., for Claude B. Love-stedt, 87, who died Nov. 24, 2007, at his home in Bullhead City with his wife Helen at his side.

Mr. Lovestedt was born Jan. 16, 1920, in Rocky Ford, Colo., to Carl and Lillian Lovestedt. He spent his early years in Montana and at the age of 16, he relocated to California and became a journeyman tool and die maker.

In 1942 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the South Pacific on the USS Carter Hall for the remainder of World War II. He was honorably discharged in January 1946.

He returned to his mold making for several years and married his wife Helen. In 1952, they moved to Nevada and established his gold and silver mining and milling business which he operated successfully for 35 years; mining first in the Pine Nuts, with 22 of those years were spent at the Zaca Mine in Alpine County and seven years at Broken Hills near Middlegate. He retired in 1987.

Mr. Lovestedt was preceded in death by his sisters Agnes and Ada. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen Love-stedt, of Bullhead City, Ariz.; his son Marvin, brother Andy, nephews Bob, Jack and Greg, and nieces Bonnie and Joy.

Arrangements are in the care of Dimond & Sons Silver Bell Chapel in Bullhead City where cremation will take place.

Burial will take place at the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Calif., at a later date.
