Gardnerville author Tomacina Hochgurtel signs copies of her book, "Aunt Mommy," noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, at Borders Books.
"Aunt Mommy" is about how the author rescued her 12-month-old nephew with Down syndrome from an unstable environment, welcomed him into her family and how he thrives in the care of his Aunt Mommy.
As manager of her family's restaurant, Hochgurtel works as waitress, cook and bookkeeper and hopes to continue her education working with special needs children.
