Four people arrested in connection with a sheriff's investigation into methamphetamine sales in Carson Valley pleaded guilty this week to various charges.
Brad Bullion, 45, of Gardnerville, pleaded guilty Monday to one count of possession of a controlled substance for sale.
Twila Leeling, 43, of Carson City, pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance.
Samuel Want, 37, of Gardnerville, pleaded guilty Monday to trafficking in a controlled substance.
Scott Fonger, 45, of Gardnerville, pleaded guilty Tuesday to trafficking in a controlled substance.
Bullion faces up to four years in prison and a $5,000 fine at his sentencing June 25. He is eligible for probation.
The other three face up to 15 years in prison and a $100,000 fine. They are ineligible for probation unless they meet certain statutory requirements such as providing information to law enforcement in other cases.
Leeling faces an additional six years and $50,000 fine because of the second charge. She is to be sentenced June 25.
Want has agreed to forfeit a vehicle used in the transaction.
His sentencing is scheduled July 9.
"I made a conscious choice to deliver the methamphetamine on my way home from work," Want said. "I was really high and that was it."
Want said he was paid in drugs and not money.
Fonger faces up to six years in prison and a $50,000 fine at his sentencing July 10.
Additional charges were dropped in exchange for the plea agreements.
Fonger and Leeling are still in custody.
Prosecutor Kris Brown objected to releasing Leeling on her own recognizance.
"When she was arrested, she was living in Reno," Brown said. "She faces mandatory prison and is not a good candidate for release."
District Judge Michael Gibbons asked her lawyer, Alan Erb, to submit a written motion about Leeling's criminal history and how she would be supervised before he makes a decision about her release.
The arrests were the culmination of a six-week investigation conducted by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Street Enforcement Team.
Investigators purchased 83.2 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $8,000.
The fifth person arrested in the sweep, Corey Doan, 34, of the Gardnerville Ranchos, is set for preliminary hearing June 15 on trafficking charges.
