Morning update

The Dakota Organization will interview candidates on March 17 for the non-paid position of directing intern for the Minden-based theater company's upcoming production. Seniors 60 and older can receive a free box of food every month if they qualify. Representatives of the Food Bank of Northern Nevada are inviting seniors with a low income to participate in the USDA Commodities Supplemental Food Program. They will be at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville, 9 a.m. March 19 to take registrations. Income requirements are an annual gross income of $12,740 for single households and $17,160 for two-person households. Applicants need to provide pay stub or bank statement, driver's license or state ID card, or two of the following: utility bill, lease agreements or rent receipt. Information: 783-6455.

The Nevada Day Parade board of directors is looking for an events coordinator. This part-time, non-paid position is an opportunity for someone to gain experience and give to the community.
