The Carson Valley Community Food Closet's 15th annual Wacky Waddlers Wiver Wace is under way. The "wace" this year will be held on Sunday as a part of the Carson Valley Days celebration.
Local businesses will vie for the coveted "Perpetual Duck Trophy." The ducks are now available for a tax-deductible $50 donation.
This is the food closet's major fundraiser each year, which helps people in Douglas County.
The Wacky Waddlers Wiver Wace is Sunday at the slough at Lampe Park. Business race begins at 1 p.m.; service club race at 1:30 p.m. and general public race at 2 p.m. Checks can be brought in to the Carson Valley Community Food Closet, 1255 Waterloo in Gardnerville, or call the wace chairman, Gil Goode, 885-2613. The event is sponsored by Big George Ventures.
