Patrick E. Ossenkop

1947-2007

A celebration of life will be Aug. 4 in Portland, Ore., for Patrick E. Ossenkop, 60, who died July 15, 2007, in Minden.

A four-year resident of Minden, Mr. Ossenkop was born March 16, 1947, In Tempe, Ariz., to Robert E. and Georgeen Weldy Ossenkop. He had 16 years of education, he served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War where he received two Purple Hearts and was awarded the Bronze Star with a V Device for valor. He married Jo Bashaw May 27, 1968 in Arroyo Grande, Calif. He was a lieutenant for the Portland Police and before moving to Minden he was a resident of Beaverton, Ore. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, camping, traveling and his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jo Ossenkop of Minden; his son and daughter-in-law Brian and Angie Ossenkop; daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Jeff Morgan; his brother Richard Taylor; his sisters Sherry McClaine and Darcy Harding as well as six grandchildren.

Arrangements are in the care of Capitol City Cremation. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Johns Hopkins University for vasculitis research.
