Jacks Valley releases results of science fair

There were more than 100 projects entered in Jacks Valley Elementary School's science fair on Feb. 13, a good turnout according to parent advisor Linda Niday.

The science fair was made possible through a grant from the Douglas County Education Foundation. Volunteer judges included Kyle Brown and Stephan Sufka from GE Energy, parents Lori Lane and Rene Smith, Carson Valley Middle School National Junior Honor Society members Nolan Nicholson and Bart Niday and Jacks Valley teachers Cheryl Winter and Julie Shulz.

Jacks Valley Science Fair results:

First grade: Emma Smith

Fourth grade: Nathan Clinger, first place

Fifth grade: Lane Smith, first place
