Jim and Jerry Adams

Johnson Lane residents Jim and Jerry Adams are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this week, how wonderful and we all congratulate you.

Jim went to school in Sherwin Oaks, Calif., at Notre Dame High School which was an all boy's school. Jerry went to Corvallis High School in Studio City, which was an all girl's school. So, how did they meet? The two happened to both attend a church function. They got married at San Buena Ventura Mission. Jim and Jerry have six children and 12 grandchildren.

Jim said they moved to Carson Valley because their family is here. His grandfather and uncle were Basque and lived on a Spanish Ranch in Winnemucca. Jerry said she has a sister here. Their oldest son, Jim Adams, lives in Texas with three of the grandchildren. Their son, Hal Adams, lives here in Johnson Lane with his wife and three grandchildren. Cindy Carr, Carry Graves and Carla Kennedy live in Carson City with a few more grandchildren and Connie Bowlen lives in Gardnerville with her daughter Chelsea. Wow, what a big family. It is good to be close to family and they love to have so many of the grandchildren close by.

Jim and Jerry travel a lot with the Good Sam's Club (Silver Sage). Last year they took a 42-day trip to Alaska with more than 20 other motor homes. They have one of those maps of the United States on their motor home door. Jim said they been to over 75 percent of the United States. Retirement is good and it sure is fun traveling with your lifetime partner.

Congratulations again, how wonderful for you to be still in love after all those years.

Happy Valentine's Day to all you sweethearts out their and a very special Happy Valentine's Day to my sweetheart.

Thank-you

Thank-you to Tom McCormick, Sylvia Arnet, my parents and Jane Schmidt for all of your help this weekend. I won't go into detail, but they helped me in a type of search and rescue during the storm that ended on a positive note. Thank you so much.
