The body of missing Reno Air Race pilot Steve Brown, 51, was found in wreckage of his biplane Thursday afternoon, according to the Nevada Appeal. Brown disappeared Tuesday after telling friends he was going to fly the Carson River.
We've definitely had trace amounts of rain west of Highway 395. There are spots in Alpine County that hit up to a quarter-inch. Rain remains likely in the forecast through Saturday night and then trails off on Sunday. It should be back to dry conditions by Wednesday.
The weather isn't forcing much in the way of road restrictions here in Douglas County. Chains are mandatory for travel over Carson Pass or over Highway 50. Snow tires or chains are required on the Mount Rose Highway.
The results of The Record-Courier's first online poll have shown a pretty overwhelming tendency toward slower growth and a rant about Californians, ranchers and rich people conspiring to keep the workers down with a growth limit that in fact has never been implemented. At least it was on topic. We'll change the question out today.
