Second Saturday art event at CVIC

The six galleries of the Carson Valley Art Gallery Association combine forces for a two-day art show during the Second Saturday weekend, Sept. 8-9. Displays will be set up at the CVIC Hall on Esmeralda Avenue during the Minden Street Fair. Art patrons will be able to get an overview of the artwork available through the galleries that are located in Gardnerville and Minden. A sampling of what is to be seen is:

-- Fine art from Artistic Viewpoints Gallery and Studio. The gallery carries art from local artists as well as other artists throughout the southwest.

Oils, watercolors, pastels, photography, glass art, and pottery are just some of the mediums you will find in the gallery and at the show.

-- Also displayed are original artworks by regional artists from East Fork Gallery. Works include oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, photography, pottery and stained glass. The artists cooperative provides a changing array of local artwork.

-- Lone Tree Gallery displays a collection of landscapes, western and Native American themed fine art originals and limited edition prints. Located in downtown Minden since 1985, Lone Tree also offers sculpture, furnishings, gifts and framing.

-- Original art in oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, limited and open edition lithography and gicleé prints can be found at Minden Fast Frames Gallery. The gallery features both regional and nationally recognized artists.

-- Artisans International Gallery will display world art and home décor including fiber, wood, glass, ceramics, wire, bead and jewelry during the show.

-- Original oils, limited editions, gicleé, serigraphs and open edition prints are shown by Art!Rageous Gallery. The gallery also features quality custom framing.

Visit the CVIC Hall during the show or stop by any of the galleries and pick up a gallery guide.
