Vibes col. 8-31

People were enjoying the great summer evening, having picnics and listening to the music of the Michael Powers' band in the last concert of the series in Minden Park last week. A friend commented that if he was driving through town for the first time and saw the crowd at Minden Park, he would think this would be a great place to live.

He was right. Carson Valley is a great place to live and these beautiful summer nights and all the free activities available to us just reinforce that idea.

Saturday is the last free music concert at Minden Village with the Duo-Tones playing surf tunes of the 1960s. The animated film "Cars" plays in Heritage Park on Sept. 7 and the 5 Alarm band plays Sept. 16 in Genoa Park. If you haven't taken advantage of the free entertainment offered in the Valley this summer, these are three more opportunities to have fun.
