The aim of 4-H programs is to improve the head, heart, hands and health. Four-H is a national youth organization of programs for young people in home economics, agriculture, community service and personal development.

Four branches of the Douglas County 4-H Clubs rode horses, demonstrated dog obedience and cooking skills, and displayed arts and crafts talents in events at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in July to qualify for state competitions.
