Rockathon features cars, swap meet and '50s rock 'n' roll



The Town of Gardnerville and the Valley Cruisers Car Club will be hosting the semi-annual '50s Rockathon Car Show & Swap Meet 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Park in Gardnerville. Rock 'n' roll music will be provided by Time Warp.


A swap meet for all car-related parts and accessories will be offered. Spaces are available for $10.


At the hobby car show, all hobby cars are welcome including, street roads, classics, muscle cars, antiques, sports cars, kit cars, trucks, low riders and everything in between. Cars from any year and in any condition are welcomed, as long as they can be driven in. Awards will be presented. There is a 100 car limit, at $10 entry fee per car.


The Valley Cruisers Car Club will be selling hot dogs, cold drinks and chips from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.


Bring chairs, blankets and the entire family for a day of music, cars and buying used car parts that you cannot live without.
