University students hold vigil for massacre victims

Snow fell as candlelight illuminated the faces of University of Nevada, Reno, students who attended a vigil on Tuesday night in observance of the massacre that occurred at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va.

The vigil was organized by Associated Students of the University of Nevada and the Graduate Student Association.

Virgina Tech student Cho Seung-Hui went on a rampage at the university on Monday, killing 32 people and then himself.

In Reno, hundreds of students and members of the community filled the Jot Travis Student Union auditorium, holding hands and quietly embracing one another, smiling sadly. Religious leaders from throughout Reno stepped outside of their faiths to talk about the shooting.

A bank account to help injured students and the families of victims, the Virginia Tech Victims Fund, has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank.

Counseling programs have been set up at UNR for people trying to cope.
