Sierra Lutheran wins championship; heads for walkathon

The Sierra Lutheran High School Academic Olympic Team was able to compete and win the state championship in Laughlin in part due to the Falcon Boosters. Without funds from the Boosters to assist them, the team may not have had the ability to travel to the different parts of Nevada and compete. The Falcon Boosters provide many of the extras needed to have athletic and academic teams at Sierra Lutheran High School.

These students will also be participating in the Second Annual Sierra Lutheran High School Walkathon sponsored by the Falcon Boosters with the assistance of Thrivent Financial. The walkathon is scheduled for April 28 at the site for the new school to be built located off North Sunridge Drive (across Highway 395 from Target).

Registration and breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m. and the walk continues until 1 p.m. Students from the school will be collecting pledges for the fundraiser. Members of the community are invited. For more information, contact the school at 782-0060 or visit the Web site at www.sierralhs.com.
