The R-C Morning Report

Work is scheduled to begin this week to bury utilities along Highway 395 in Gardnerville. Trenchers will be working on either side of the street between Mission and Church streets in town. Expect delays and all the usual accoutrements that come along with road construction for the next two months. At least it will all be done by Carson Valley Days.

Winter may not be ready to release us from its grip just yet. Something in the way of a storm is headed to the Valley this week with a 50 percent of rain arriving on Wednesday to be followed by a 50 percent chance of snow on Wednesday night. High temperatures on the tail end of the week will barely make the 50s. The odds the National Weather Service is giving for some real weather to arrive are pretty good. But any bet on Nevada weather is for suckers.

One thing's certain, the wind is up this morning. Gusts of up to 26 mph have been recorded this morning in the Gardnerville Ranchos. And it's very warm out, with a temperature of 51 degrees as of 6 a.m.
