Soroptimists gather in Reno

Members of the Soroptimist International of Carson Valley will join 400 other Soroptimists at the Sierra Nevada Region of Soroptimist International of the Americans, Inc., on April 27-29 at the Atlantis Casino Resort in Reno. Local Soroptimist Club members will join Soroptimists from 59 other Soroptimist clubs in Nevada and Northern California for this three-day event.

Rosann Turigliatto, Jody Christen, Jeri Johnson, Jan Shaw, Carlee Bennett, Arlene Gleich and Cora Hansen will be attending from Soroptimist International of Carson Valley. The conference will highlight a year's worth of community service by local Soroptimist clubs, plus featuring programs and projects from Soroptimist International of the Americas and Soroptimist International. Also at the conference, numerous awards will be presented to local clubs for outstanding work in service and membership. A variety of recognition awards and scholarships for students and adults will be presented at the conference from among nominations made by local Soroptimist clubs. Soroptimist International of Carson Valley has nominated Becky Nielsen for the Women's Opportunity Award and Peggie Hannah for the Violet Richardson Award for recognition at the regional level.
