Topaz Lodge fire started in attic

A fire at the Topaz Lodge appears to have started in the attic.

Firefighters at the scene said the fire appears to be electrical in nature. The casino was evacuated just before 6 p.m. when the fire was reported. Flames and smoke could be seen breaking through the casino's roof.

Professional and volunteer firefighters responded to the blaze from Topaz Lake, Topaz Ranch Estates, Ruhenstroth and the Gardnerville Ranchos.

The East Fork ladder truck was used to fight the fire from above.
