Firefighters are responding to a wildliand fire near Wiseman Lane in Ruhenstroth.
The fire was reported as a quarter acre at about 11:50 a.m.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office will be holding a child safety seat inspection as part of the Mothers of Pre-Schoolers Car Seat Safety Day and Carson Valley Christian Center.
The MOPS folks will start at 9 a.m. and the deputies will be on hand from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. to inspect car seats for safe installation.
The Christian center is located at 1095 Stephanie Way in northern Carson Valley.
It will be mostly sunny and clear through the rest of the week leading into Candy Dance.
High temperatures will remain in the 70s and lows will hover above freezing for most of the week.
The Candy Dance forecast is for a high of 72 on Saturday and 76 on Sunday.
