A Scarecrow Festival will take place 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 7 at Minden Park. Come and make a personalized scarecrow to take home while supporting the local artistic community. The cost is $8 per scarecrow-making kit, $1 for face painting. The annual Scarecrow Festival is sponsored by the East Fork Gallery. For more information call 782-7629.
n The Family Support Council of Douglas County's Costume Patch will take place at the same time at Minden Park. Visitors will be able to choose from costume pieces and put together their own costumes, all to benefit FSC. For more information, call FSC at 782-8692.
