The Mark Castro Band performs Friday and Saturday night at Topaz Lodge and Casino on Highway 395 at Topaz Lake. The musicians play from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. For information, call 266-3338.
The Mark Castro Band trio is led by guitarist, Mark Castro.
Castro became popular in the East Bay in California during his high school years. Soon after, he toured and recorded with the reggae band, Inner Circle (Bad Boys).
When located in the Bay area, The Mark Castro Band performed regularly at The Keystone Family Clubs. Band members have included Santana alumni, Dave Brown and Rico Reyes. Castro has opened for other great guitarists including Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose, Roy Buchanan and more. Recently, Castro performed with Latin Legends, Jorge Santana and Richard Bean, of Malo.
Currently, The Mark Castro Band is performing classic rock songs from Chuck Berry, Santana, Jeff Beck, Hendrix and The Beatles.
Castro's singer and bass player is Satia. Originally from New York, Doris Runcie, aka Satia, was the leader of her original group, SATIA.
