Sharron Angle lost her bid for a new election on Friday after Judge Bill Maddox ruled the House of Representatives has exclusive jurisdiction over election to Congress.

According to the Associated Press, Maddox also ruled there was no evidence any voter was disenfranchised by the election.

Angle told an Associated Press reporter that she will not appeal the decision.

There will be an artist reception and concert 6 p.m. today at 88 Cups in Minden. Jazz musician Michael Powers and 10 Valley artists will be on hand.

The Disabled American Veterans are having their yearly fundraiser and Forget-me-not Sale, today and Saturday at Raley's, Smith's and Scolari's.

The proceeds from this sale will go toward the purchase of new vans used to transport veterans to the hospital for doctor appointments, to help veterans receive their benefits, as well as helping veterans in hospitals and nursing homes.

It will be sunny and warm with high temperature hitting 90 and low around 41. It will be dry today, but there will be a slight chance of thunderstorms over the Labor Day weekend.
