New Girl Scouting year begins

Confidence. Courage. Character. These are the building blocks of Girl Scouts, and now is your chance to help your daughter gain them all. As the new 2006 Girl Scouting membership year began in August, girls ages 5-17 will have the opportunity to be a part of an organization that will change their lives. More than just cookies and camping, the Girl Scouts Leadership Development Program provides girls with activities that help them discover, lead and take action. Through Girl Scouting, girls develop skills to become tomorrow's leaders. Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada is now in the process of recruiting girls to join.

In addition, Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada is also looking for adult volunteers from all backgrounds to work with girls. The most recognized volunteer position in Girl Scouts is a leader, however, Girl Scouts also offers many flexible volunteer opportunities. No matter what your experience, your age or amount of time you have to give, Girl Scouts can provide you with the opportunity to help girls grow strong.

Anyone interested in joining Girl Scouts or volunteering can look for recruitment nights at your local school or visit us online at www.gssn.org or contact the local office at 322-0642, ext. 226.
