East Fork Fire & Paramedic units are responding to an address on Broken Arrow Road for barn fire.

Volunteers from Gardnerville, Minden, Fish Springs, Genoa and Ruhenstroth were called out at 7:05 a.m. to the address near Orchard Road.

Units on scene report that there are flames showing at the barn, located at 1581 Broken Arrow.

The barn is 1,400 square foot barn was ablaze when firefighers arrived.

Fallen soldier Pfc. Phillip Brandon Williams returned home to Gardnerville on Monday night when the motorcade escorting his body arrived at FitzHenry's.

Some people waiting in the cold damp night to greet Williams' return with American flags or just to watch the motorcade with Carson Valley's first casualty from the war in Iraq pass by.

Williams' body arrived in Reno at 7 p.m. Monday and a motorcade made up of Douglas, Reno and Nevada Highway Patrol units escorted him south.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Douglas High School gym to be followed by a burial at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.

It looks like it rained a bit over night in Gardnerville. But there is still a slight chance of some more today.

The high today should reach 52 degrees. The low tonight will be a chilly 25.
