Platform:

I have been involved, as my children grew, in the parents group at Jacks Valley School as president. I also had the pleasure to serve on a committee that developed the plans for Minden and Piñon Hills Elementary schools. Years ago I had the honor of being involved in the AD Hoc Metropolitan Planning Branch for the Episcopal Diocese of California. This organization was a "think tank" to develop strategies for the future. This involvement has helped shape many ideas of mine.

Among these are the concept of sustainability. As the Improvement District continues into the future, we need to recognize that we must sustain ourselves. How? Through developing plans to provide our own electricity, at least for the machinery that the district needs to clean our water and pump it. We need to plan to continue in a better way to treat our sewage.

We also, as a district, need to study how to develop our parks so that they are more friendly to the environment that we live in and useful to the people who live in Indian Hills and Douglas County. After all, we do live in high desert.

Lastly, I love where I live and have raised my family here in this beautiful Valley and I care greatly for how it develops.
