CASA volunteer meetings offered

The Court Appointed Special Advocate Program, CASA of Douglas County, is a volunteer-driven organization committed to serving abused and neglected children and children who are involved in custody cases or other matters before the court. CASAs represent the voices of these children and advocate for their best interests in the judicial, educational, medical and social service communities. More CASA volunteers are needed for the children of Douglas County. Training is currently scheduled to begin in early 2007.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or would like to know more about CASA, we are planning two orientation sessions: Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. Current volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and share their feelings about their work. If you are interested in becoming a CASA volunteer, but are unable to attend either orientation session, call Linda Cuddy at 782-6247. You can make a difference in a child's life.
