Carson Valley Medical Center, 1107 Highway 395 at the south end of Gardnerville, is hosting a Health and Fitness Day on Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The medical center joins with businesses and organizations around the community to bring together a day of information and health resources for the residents of Carson Valley. Free health screenings include blood pressure, pulse oximetry, glucose screening, foot screening, body composition testing, spirometry (a screening that diagnoses and monitors asthma), and grip strength. Other activities will include "Ask the Pharmacist" sessions, proper hand-washing demonstrations, free chair massages, and scheduling for discounted mammograms. Bring the whole family out for a day of health. Kids will enjoy the coloring contest and parents can record the little ones' height and weight.
