Rockwell "Rocky"


Gilbert


1949-2006


A memorial service is 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Chapel of Carson Valley for fifth-generation Nevadan Rockwell "Rocky" Gilbert, 56, who died May 11, 2006, in Mesa, Ariz., with his family around him.


Mr. Gilbert was a born Sept. 11, 1949, in Reno. He grew up in Gardnerville and graduated with honors as valedictorian from Douglas County High School in 1967.


He went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass., and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical and electrical engineering.


Mr. Gilbert traveled throughout the United States and abroad working in the nuclear and solar power generation industries.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Peggy Gilbert, and an infant brother, Tyler.


Mr. Gilbert is survived by his wife, Donna; a son, Donovan; a daughter, Robin; grandchildren Seth, Dalyn and Lexi, all of Mesa; brothers Mike and Paul; aunts Joyce Neddenriep and Worth Borda of Carson Valley; numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.


Calvary Chapel is located at 1004 Dresslerville Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos.




Thomas Robert Long


1959-2006


A celebration of life is 12:30 p.m. May 25 for Thomas Robert Long at Happy Homestead Cemetery.


Mr. Long died May 11, 2006, at Barton Memorial Hospital. He was 47.


Born Sept. 26, 1959, he was a resident of South Lake Tahoe for more than 30 years. He was an avid golfer, NASCAR fan, snowmobiler, outdoor enthusiast, music lover and admirer of animals. His love and dedication to his family and friends was a living embodiment of an ideal brother, uncle, son and friend.


Mr. Long is survived by his mother Patricia; brother Doug Maselli; nephew Dustin Singler and nieces Shannon Johnson, Camille Corder, Lauren Urbina and Sara Moretti and their families.
