Pierini named chairman of state POST

Douglas County Sheriff Ron Pierini was elected chairman of the Nevada Commission of Police Officers' Standards and Training.

Gov. Kenny Guinn appointed nine members to the board from across the state who recently elected Pierini chairman.

The commission develops professional training for law enforcement officers throughout the state to ensure that agencies comply with established statues and regulations.

Pierini replaced Humboldt County Sheriff Gene Hill who served as chairman for nine years.
