Lee Baumgarth


1928-2006


A memorial service will take place 2 p.m., March 24 at Hilltop Community Church 3616 Sunridge Dr., Carson City for Lee Baumgarth, who died March 20, 2006.


Mr. Baumgarth was born in Chicago, Ill. in 1928. He and his family lived in Bishop, Calif. for 25 years where he was a high school Biology teacher and a physical therapist. He was a Christian who lived his faith. He was known for his quick humor, his boundless energy and gentle ways.


He is survived by his loving wife Audra Jo Baumgarth of Minden, his daughter Lisa Baumgarth of San Diego, Calif.; the Minden family of Shawn, Audrey, Emily and Rachel Uhland and his sister Leota Heshmati of Santa Cruz, Calif.

Sammy V. Phillips


1933-2006


A celebration of life will be 6-9 p.m. March 25 at the Atlantis Casino Ballroom A. in Reno for Sammy V. Phillips, 72, who died March 8, 2006, in Gardnerville.


Mr. Phillips was born Dec. 27, 1933, in Tulsa, Okla. to Frank and Hazel Phillips. After finishing high school and vocational school he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and spent his working career as a maintenance mechanic and CCA. He married Patricia Ann Phillips, July 23, 1956, in Tulsa, Okla. and lived in San Jose, Calif., until moving to Gardnerville 14 years ago.


He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Phillips, his sister Frances and his parents. He is survived by his daughter Cathy Phillips Hummel and family of Galt, Calif.; daughter Debbie Phillips and family of San Jose, Calif.; daughter Lou Ann Jett and family of San Diego, Calif.; son Mike Phillips and family of Washington; grandchildren Jonathan, Danielle, Josh, Chenoa and Robbie; sister Mary Hartsfield, brother Robert Phillips, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.


Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home. Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City. Memorial contributions can be made in Sammy Phillip's name to St. Mary's Hospice or the American Cancer Society.




Charlene Weaver


Charlene Weaver died March 15, 2006, at her home in Carson City. She was an active member of the American Legion Post #56 of Santa Maria, Calif. Mrs. Weaver loved spending time with family and animals.


She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Deny Weaver; daughter, Deneen Weaver; grandson, Charles Weaver; sisters, Virginia Kay Michaels of Willoughby, Ohio, and Martha Higens of San Diego, Calif.; as well as numerous friends and relatives.


The family is planning a memorial gathering for late spring or early summer.


Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is handling all cremation arrangements for the family.
