Chris Patton has 10 years' experience working on pools and spas and has the blessing from his previous employer to get his own business going in Carson Valley.
"A lot of people know me from Gardnerville Spa and Pool," said Chris Patton. "It was my old boss' idea for us to get going. He's excited for us."
Chris and Elizabeth's business is Aqua Tech Pool & Spa Service and Repair. Patton is the one-man pool and spa expert and Elizabeth does bookkeeping and phone service.
They said the business is taking off because of references from other spa places.
Patton's service extends to Edgewood resort and other pools and spas at Lake Tahoe.
"I've been to gas heater school and have experience with spa and pool heaters," Patton said. "I've a lot of training for spas. I'll work on any make and model."
He is capable of designing a home spa for people, doing repair work and performing routine service such as weekly or biweekly chemical checks or cleaning.
Besides experience working with about every kind of spa made, Patton was the office manager for four years at Gardnerville Spa and Pool.
"Chris has a history of working on spas in the Valley," said Elizabeth Patton.
"Sometimes the spa business could have a revolving door but Chris stayed and took more classes."
Aqua Tech carries different lines of pool chemicals: Bromine, Baqua Spa and Free.
"Some people are sensitive to chemicals so we'll do water testing to see if there's too much of something," said Chris Patton.
Patton said he will educate people on how to use pool chemicals and will also accept call-in orders and do home deliveries.
